We run StarsRite.com, a young online publishing platform that is already live but needs continuous polish so visitors enjoy a smooth, secure experience. We are looking for a versatile developer who can jump in right away and handle month-to-month upkeep—roughly 5-10 hours, averaging about US $100 in effort each month. Day-to-day you’ll be inside our self-hosted WordPress install, refining both front-end and back-end code. PHP, CSS, SQL, HTML and even the occasional Java/JavaScript tweak come up regularly. We will rely on you to: • roll out incremental design and functionality tweaks that make the site feel faster and more intuitive • keep core, themes, plug-ins and custom snippets current (and conflict-free) • tighten security layers and monitor for vulnerabilities • track basic SEO tasks, then adjust on-page elements as algorithms evolve • set up or refresh social posts and Google Ads when new content drops The overarching goal is to improve user experience, so every change should be measured against that yardstick. Because a few issues need attention immediately, I’d like to begin as soon as we agree on the scope for the first month.
