My WordPress-based information portal, colourdots.co.za, has grown beyond 3,000 content pages and I’m ready to offer the same depth of information through a mobile experience. I want a complete app built for both iOS and Android that pulls every post, page and directory item directly from the existing WordPress installation (the site currently runs on a standard theme with no headless setup). The core of the project is smooth content browsing. Visitors need to be able to open the app, dive into the categories that already exist on the site, and read or view each article exactly as they do on the web. While search and log-in features can come later, for this first release the focus is fast loading, clear navigation and rock-solid data sync with WordPress. To keep users engaged I’d like in-app ratings and reviews on each article or directory listing and lightweight social sharing so they can push interesting finds to their networks without leaving the app. Think simple share sheets and comment stars rather than complex social feeds. I can supply full admin access, the current theme files and a structured export of all taxonomy if that helps streamline development.
