My DigitalOcean droplet that hosted four separate sites was recently compromised and the sites are now offline. I have several droplet snapshots ready, so the raw material for a full rollback is in place—I just need an experienced hand to get everything running again and then lock things down so this doesn’t happen twice. Both restoring full functionality and preserving every last piece of data matter equally to me. I’m also open to whichever security stack you consider best practice—whether that’s UFW + Fail2Ban, CSF, Suricata, CrowdSec, or something else entirely—as long as the end result is a hardened, up-to-date server that can stand up to modern threats. Because the sites are down, time is critical; I’d like the work started and wrapped up as soon as realistically possible. Deliverables • Recover all four websites from the existing snapshots and verify they load correctly. • Update the underlying OS, web server, and any out-of-date dependencies. • Configure and document a firewall, intrusion-prevention, and auto-update regime. • Provide a brief hand-off report summarizing what was fixed, which hardening steps were applied, and any ongoing maintenance recommendations. If you’ve handled similar DigitalOcean rescues before and can hit the ground running, I’m looking forward to working with you right away.
