My WordPress site runs a catalogue of property-listing entries and I need them returned almost instantly through a custom search interface built with Next.js. Visitors usually search for property listings and expect to narrow results by city or by the exact property title, so those two attributes must be indexable and filterable. Speed is everything here: less then 100ms responses, server-side rendered where practical, and client-side hydration that feels instantaneous. Autocomplete has to surface popular searches as users type, smoothly and without lag. I’m fine with whatever stack makes this possible— custom next.js search or a use of the WordPress REST API—so long as the experience remains lightning-fast and works on mobile and desktop alike. Deliverables • A Next.js component (or page) wired up to WordPress that provides the search bar, filtered results, and popular-search autocomplete. • Indexing and syncing script or instructions so new listings are searchable within minutes. • Brief deployment notes and a short video or screenshots showing the feature in action on a staging domain. I’ll test by running a set of sample queries and measuring time-to-first-byte; anything over 200ms on a typical 4G connection will need optimization. Once it passes, we go live.
