I’m setting up a new Shopify store and want shoppers to personalise products through a true 3D configurator right on the product page. The core requirement is the ability for customers to switch between different materials and colours and see those changes applied instantly to the model. Smooth performance on both desktop and mobile is essential, and the add-to-cart flow must stay native to Shopify so there’s no friction at checkout. I’m open to the underlying tech—whether you build with Three.js, Babylon.js, WebGL, or leverage a proven Shopify app—as long as the result feels seamless with Dawn or similar Online Store 2.0 themes. I’ll also need a straightforward way to manage the material/colour library from the Shopify admin, ideally through metafields or a custom section so I can expand the options later without code edits. Real-time preview, AR, or animation hooks would be nice-to-have down the line, but they’re not required for this first phase.
