Role: Part-Time Senior Data Engineer / Data Architect Company: Fast-growing global Beauty Tech startup Location: Remote (Worldwide) Type: Part-Time (10–20 hours/week) About the Role We are a rapidly expanding Beauty Tech startup building an advanced data platform that processes skincare product information at scale. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer / Architect to oversee our data ecosystem, guide engineers, and ensure clean, scalable architecture across all pipelines. This is not a full-time development role, it is a leadership and oversight position, ensuring the technical direction is correct while the engineering team executes. Responsibilities Own the data architecture and pipeline design Review and approve modules (scraping, ingestion, enrichment, image matching, etc.) Ensure taxonomy, schemas, and data structures are correctly implemented Guide and mentor the engineering team Resolve high-level technical challenges and blockers Oversee pipeline reliability, versioning, and data consistency Maintain technical documentation and architectural standards Provide recommendations on best practices for automation and scaling Required Skills 7+ years in Data Engineering / Software Engineering Strong Python (pandas, asyncio, modular design) Experience building end-to-end data pipelines Knowledge of ETL/ELT workflows Familiarity with file-based pipelines (Excel, CSV, images, cloud storage) Strong architectural judgment Able to advise and oversee junior and mid-level engineers Nice to Have Experience with beauty, retail, or product catalog data Knowledge of AI/ML enrichment workflows Familiarity with OneDrive / SharePoint APIs (Microsoft Graph)
