I need an RFID-based platform dedicated to Asset tracking, but instead of equipment or vehicles the “assets” are People moving through my facilities. The system must reliably capture and store two key data points for every tagged individual: Entry and exit times as well as their wider Activity history while on site. Core workflow RFID badges (or wristbands) will be read at all controlled doors and strategic zones. Each read event should be time-stamped, linked to the person’s profile, and pushed in real time to a central database. A responsive web dashboard will let me filter by person, date range, or location and export reports for compliance audits. Tech expectations I’m open on the stack, yet a modern combination such as Node.js or Python on the back-end, REST/GraphQL APIs, and a lightweight front-end in React or Vue would fit nicely. The database must scale—PostgreSQL or another relational store is fine, provided it supports clear audit trails. Reader integration can leverage standard EPC GEN2 protocols; middleware that already speaks to Impinj, Zebra, or ThingMagic hardware is ideal, but custom serial/TCP handling is acceptable if documentation is included. Deliverables • Source code with build/run instructions • Database schema and migration scripts • Dashboard UI with basic filtering, search, and CSV download • Clear README covering hardware setup, tag commissioning, and API endpoints • A test dataset showing at least 10 fictitious users with varied movement patterns Acceptance criteria The platform logs >95 % of tag reads in a continuous 8-hour simulation, correctly reconciles them into readable Entry and exit times, and generates an Activity history report that matches the raw read stream. If you have prior work integrating RFID readers or developing real-time asset tracking dashboards, this project will feel familiar. Please outline which reader SDKs you’ve used and how you plan to keep latency low between read events and UI updates.
