My OVH-hosted Linux VPS was taken offline after a phishing abuse report and is now in Rescue mode. OVH will not clean the server, so I need an experienced Linux sysadmin to fully recover it. Important: This server hosts approximately 300 WordPress websites. Recovering these sites is critical. Full data loss is not acceptable unless recovery is proven unsafe. What I need: Access the server in Rescue mode and remove all malware, backdoors, and malicious cron jobs. Take a safe backup of all legitimate WordPress sites and databases. Rebuild the VPS on a fresh OS and restore only clean data. Secure the server (SSH hardening, updates, basic firewall). Ensure the machine is clean so OVH can lift the abuse/quarantine. Rescue-mode root SSH access and the OVH abuse ticket are ready to share. I’m aiming for a same-day resolution so the sites can go live again without triggering another suspension.
