I want to build a lightweight Profit Tracker that individuals and small businesses can open each day, enter a transaction in seconds, and instantly see how it affects their bottom line. Every entry must be tagged as Personal, Business, or Savings so the application can keep those balances separate while still rolling everything into a clear overall profit-or-loss figure. Core workflow • Add income or expense, choose the date, select one of the three categories, and save. • Behind the scenes the system updates running totals and flags anything that pushes a balance negative. • At any moment users can open a Monthly Summary view that lays out income, expenses, and net profit for the current or any past month, displayed both as numbers and a simple bar or line chart. Key requirements • Intuitive, uncluttered UI that feels equally at home on desktop and mobile. • Accurate calculations with no rounding surprises. • Secure local or cloud-based data storage so records persist across sessions. • Export or print the monthly summary. Deliverables 1. Complete source code (frontend, backend, database schema). 2. Installation/launch instructions for Windows and macOS. 3. Brief user guide covering daily entry and monthly reporting. Acceptance criteria – Entering a new transaction instantly updates all visible totals without page reload. – Monthly Summary matches manually verified test data to within one cent. – Application loads in under three seconds on a mid-range laptop.
