Freelancer Job Post – IoT / Smart Home Integration Expert Project Title Automated Control & Scheduling System for Pro Aqua NTS Air Cleaning Device ⸻ Project Overview I am selling the Pro Aqua NTS vacuum & air cleaning system, which includes a mobile application. The current limitation is that the device can only be turned ON manually via the official app. Goal: Develop a backend-based solution that enables fully automated ON/OFF scheduling (timer-based operation), without modifying the original firmware or official application. ⸻ Core Requirements We are looking for an IoT / Smart Device Integration Specialist who can: • Analyze the communication protocol between the device and the official mobile app • Reverse engineer the API / network communication • Propose and implement a backend automation solution ⸻ Functional Goals We want to achieve: • Automated ON/OFF scheduling (timer-based operation) • Optional: Smart Home integration (Google Home / Alexa / Home Assistant) • Remote control possibility • Optional: simple web interface or lightweight custom mobile UI ⸻ Possible Technical Approaches (open for suggestions) • Reverse engineering the mobile app network API • Building a middleware backend service • Integration with: • Google Home • Home Assistant • MQTT / Node-RED • Custom REST API bridge • Hardware fallback option: • Smart relay / smart plug (only if software control is impossible) ⸻ Deliverables • Technical feasibility analysis • Proposed architecture • Working prototype • Deployment-ready solution • Documentation for: • Setup • Maintenance • Future scalability ⸻ Required Skills • IoT system integration • Reverse engineering mobile APIs • Network protocol analysis (Wireshark, MITM tools) • Embedded systems communication • Smart Home ecosystems (Google Home, Home Assistant, MQTT) • Backend development (Node.js / Python / Go preferred) ⸻ Nice to Have • Experience with smart appliance hacking • Prior work on reverse engineering IoT devices • Experience building automation bridges for closed ecosystems
