I need a clear, side-by-side comparison of two raft foundations in Plaxis 3D. Each raft carries a 2 × 2 group of piles (Ø 0.15 m, L 1.5 m, 0.45 m centre spacing) embedded in sandy soil and loaded with 30 kN per pile. Case 1: the raft sits directly on the ground surface. Case 2: the raft is suspended so only the piles engage the soil. Use dry-density–based material data for the sand. Other parameters can follow standard sandy-soil presets unless you prefer a calibrated set, but the focus is on modelling the density correctly. I would like free boundaries around the model to avoid artificial stiffness. Deliverables • Two Plaxis 3D project files, one for each case • A brief note on modelling assumptions, mesh details, load steps, and convergence settings • A results sheet or graph that shows vertical settlement at every pile head and the average raft settlement for both cases I will consider the job complete when both files open without errors, run through the full load step, and the settlement values are clearly traceable to your model settings.
