I already have a preliminary SolidWorks model for a modular car-park shade. I now need you to turn that starting point into a fully parametric, production-ready design that can be adapted to several site conditions. Currently, shades are tubular structure with tensioned fabric. Scope of work • Refine and expand the current SolidWorks assembly so that each module can switch between column, cantilever beam, or chair-type supports without manual re-modeling. • Specify standardized steel members/tubes and thicknesses that are widely available. • Replace every weld normally done on site with bolted or set-screw connections; the only fabrication welding should happen in the workshop. • Optimise for cost-effectiveness while meeting typical wind and live-load safety factors. • Produce clear manufacturing drawings, an itemised BOM, and an exploded assembly guide that field crews can follow without specialist tools. Key expectations – Parametric sketches and feature trees must remain editable. – All hardware (bolts, set screws, brackets) should reference catalogue parts. – Indicate any jigs or drilling templates needed for repeatable fabrication. – Keep the structure easy to transport in standard container or truck lengths. When you send your proposal, briefly outline similar modular steel projects you have delivered and confirm which SolidWorks version you will use. I will share the current files and other info as soon as we start.
