Summary I’m looking for a JavaScript developer who has actual hands-on experience with IRC, not just generic chat apps or WebSocket projects. This is a real IRC setup using InspIRCd + Anope, with a web client and some backend/API work. I’m not looking for someone to “learn IRC on the job” — I need someone who already understands how IRC works at the protocol and services level. Examples of work: JavaScript logic for an IRC web client Handling IRC state (joins, parts, nick changes, modes, topics) Integrating with services (NickServ, registered nicks) Small Node.js / API tasks related to IRC data Fixing desync or edge-case issues Requirements (important): Proven experience working with IRC (InspIRCd, Anope, or similar) Strong JavaScript skills (frontend and/or Node.js) Comfortable working with existing systems (not rewriting everything) Clear communicator who understands edge cases and stability This is paid work. I’m happy to do hourly or milestones depending on fit. This is not a large agency project — it’s hands-on, technical work with someone who actually understands IRC.
