Image to STL

I have a single-layer image ( I have a png and a .ai version of the file ) that I need turned into an STL ready for 3d printing. Each colour in the artwork must be a separate, selectable region—its own clean set of vertices or a distinct mesh—so that I can later open the file in Blender and independently tweak the bear, letters, or background without re-meshing anything. You can choose whatever pipeline you prefer (Illustrator → Inkscape → Blender, direct height-map tools, etc.), but the final geometry has to be: • Manifold and watertight • Properly scaled and centred at the origin • Organized so every colour zone is clearly isolated (separate object or vertex group) Deliverables: 1. STL file with the image split as described 2. (Optional but helpful) the working file in your native software or a .blend so I can inspect modifiers if needed Once I drop the STL into my slicer I’ll handle the actual painting. Your part ends when I can load the model in a slicing app, select any region and paint it, without destroying the neighboring area.
