Our small, fast-moving product team needs an experienced full-stack developer to attack a pressing issue: the homepage is loading too slowly and it’s hurting both conversion and user perception. During the first weeks you’ll focus almost exclusively on squeezing every millisecond you can out of that single page, then roll the lessons learned into broader performance work. I build with a modern JavaScript stack—React on the client, Node/Express and a PostgreSQL database on the back end—and several third-party services handle analytics, payments, and transactional email. You should feel comfortable profiling bundle size, refining lazy-loading strategies, trimming render blocking code, and making sure lighthouse and Core Web Vitals reflect the improvements. While the immediate target is frontend loading speed, future iterations may include API tuning or database optimization once the initial wins are in place. Deliverables for the initial phase • A clear performance baseline report for the current homepage • Code-level changes that cut first contentful paint and time-to-interactive to our agreed thresholds • Documentation of the changes plus follow-up recommendations for the rest of the site • Clean, well-reviewed pull requests merged into our main branch and deployed without regression You’ll work directly with me and one other developer, communicate daily in English, and manage your own schedule as long as deadlines are met.
