I need our theme’s custom Elementor widget extended so that its image field can do more than simply pick files from the Media Library based on the settings like custom field images. Inside the widget panel I want a clean selector that lets an editor decide, per instance, whether the image comes from the existing library i.e. featured image or a custom image field. Once the choice is made, the corresponding input should appear and the front-end output must respect that choice seamlessly. This is a functionality upgrade rather than a design tweak, so the work will sit mostly in PHP, JavaScript, and the Elementor/WordPress APIs. Please keep the widget’s current styling intact; only the logic changes. The solution has to remain compatible with future Elementor updates and be coded in a way that another developer can understand—well-commented, no hard-coded paths, and adherence to WordPress coding standards.
