Project Overview I need an experienced mechanical design engineer / CAD expert to redesign a commercial-grade exercise machine (image provided) into a lighter, compact, home-use version. The new design should be safe, ergonomic, easy to assemble, and suitable for manufacturing. What I Need ✔ Convert my reference machine into a home-friendly version ✔ Create a clean, modern, compact redesign ✔ Adjustable seat-to-arm distance (sliding rail or similar mechanism) ✔ Moving arm mechanism redesigned for home use ✔ Higher screen/monitor placement ✔ All dimensions scaled for home environments ✔ Reduce size & weight without compromising safety Required Skills Strong experience with Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or Onshape Experience designing gym equipment, physiotherapy devices, or mechanical machines Mechanical engineering fundamentals (load-bearing structures, safety factors, pivots) Ability to create: 3D CAD assembly Exploded views Manufacturing drawings Motion simulation (optional but preferred) Realistic renders (optional) Deliverables 3D CAD Model (editable) Manufacturing-ready drawings (dimensions, parts) Movable/animated mechanism showing arm + seat movement Bill of Materials (BOM) Optional: High-quality renders for marketing Reference The current commercial version image is here: (upload the file or attach the image in the job post itself) Ideal Freelancer Has designed gym/medical/rehab equipment Understands biomechanical loads Good communicator Can work iteratively and provide suggestions How to Apply Please include: A short summary of your experience Tools you use (Fusion 360 / SolidWorks / Onshape) 2–5 similar mechanical projects you have designed Your estimated timeline I have attached the picture of the commercial machine and will supply the working videos once we start.
