I am building the first public release of LaowaiHub, an app that helps foreigners in China find everything from the best visa-friendly clinics to authentic tacos in Shanghai. For this MVP I want it coded in UniApp so that a single codebase can be compiled to both iOS and Android, published through the standard Apple / Huawei / Tencent channels. The launch version must centre on city-based recommendations—lists and maps of places that reliably serve non-Chinese speakers. Around that core we also need three supporting functions that appear in the same build: • Business listings with category, photos, bilingual descriptions and contact links • Event announcements that let organisers post, edit and expire their own listings • A rating & review system tied to each business or event, showing average score plus text comments A “Moments” style feed can remain stubbed for now; a simple placeholder screen is fine as long as it is wired for future expansion. Key technical expectations • UniApp + Vue 3 preferred; state management via Pinia or Vuex is acceptable. • Backend may be Firebase, Supabase or a lightweight Node/Express service—choose what will get through China’s firewalls reliably. • All strings must load from a JSON/i18n file to allow English, Chinese and later languages. • Clean component structure, clear naming, inline documentation in English. Deliverables 1. Source code in a private Git repository with commit history 2. Compiled APK/IPA test builds delivered through TestFlight or similar 3. Brief deployment guide covering environment setup and China-specific store submission steps 4.
