Project Title: Development of 8-Electrode Body Fat Scale (BIA-based) — Firmware + Hardware Support Project Description: We are an Indian medical-device manufacturer planning to develop a smart body composition scale (body fat scale) with 8 electrodes (4 foot + 4 hand electrodes) similar to advanced models from Omron, Yunmai, or Xiaomi. We want to develop the complete firmware and electronics for this scale in collaboration with an experienced embedded hardware engineer or team. Scope of Work: 1. Firmware Development: • Firmware for weighing + bio-impedance measurement (8-electrode). • Ability to measure weight, body fat, BMI, muscle mass, bone mass, water %, visceral fat, BMR, etc. • Algorithms for body composition (you may use standard BIA equations). • BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) data transmission to mobile app (Android + iOS). • Compatibility with our existing BLE API / React Native App framework. • EEPROM calibration and OTA firmware update functionality. 2. Hardware / PCB Design Support: • MCU selection (preferably nRF52832 / nRF52840 / ESP32 / STM32). • ADC & signal conditioning circuit for BIA measurement. • Connection for 8 stainless-steel electrodes (4 foot, 4 hand). • Optional: integration with load cell amplifier (HX711 / ADS1232 / custom). 3. Deliverables: • Complete source firmware code (.hex / .bin + source) • Hardware schematic recommendations • Testing protocol and calibration method • One round of technical support during initial PCB prototype Preferred Expertise: • Experience with BIA (Bio-impedance) / body fat scale development • Strong skills in embedded C / C++, BLE, and MCU programming • Prior work on nRF52 / ESP32 / STM32 platforms • Understanding of signal processing and impedance measurement Reference Devices: • Omron HBF-702T / Yunmai SE / Xiaomi Mi Body Composition Scale 2 (You can check their functionality as reference.) Deliverables Expected: • Working firmware • Circuit diagram and component recommendation • Documentation for assembly, testing, and calibration Project Duration: 4–6 weeks (including testing & iteration)
