I am seeking an experienced CAD designer to create a 3D part model in SolidWorks that is optimized for injection molding. The project involves developing a part that is fully manufacturable and compliant with industry standards. The part is a two part plastic pipe clip component measuring approximately 38mm x 51mm. Attached to this project post is an example part similar to the part I am looking to have modeled. A detailed concept sketch will be provided. Scope of Work: • Initial call to review project and collaborate on design strategy. • Design a part in SolidWorks optimized for injection molding (including draft angles, wall thickness, undercuts, etc.) • Provide design recommendations for manufacturability, strength, and cost efficiency • Prepare and deliver complete documentation and files Deliverables: 1. eDrawing file for design review 2. Native SolidWorks file (.sldprt / .sldasm) 3. 3D STEP file (.step / .stp) for manufacturer compatibility 4. 2D detail drawing including: • All critical dimensions and tolerances • Material specification • Surface finish requirements • Any relevant GD&T callouts Designer Requirements: • Proven proficiency in SolidWorks • Strong experience in designing plastic parts for injection molding • Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) principles • Ability to produce accurate, professional 2D technical drawings • Good communication skills for design feedback and iteration • Availability to connect over live call to review design Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working directly with mold makers or injection molding suppliers • Portfolio/examples of previous injection molded part designs
