I’m looking for an experienced architectural designer / interior designer / space planner to help me renovate my existing home floor plan with minimal structural changes. The main goals are to: Optimize the existing layout for better space utilization. Use the back shaft area that was previously left unused. Redesign the bedroom to reduce clutter and add more storage. Add a new kids’ bedroom in the newly planned area. Scope of Work Review and understand the existing floor plan (to be shared after selection). Propose space optimization ideas while keeping changes to the structure minimal. Plan how to effectively use the back shaft area for expansion or storage. Redesign the existing master bedroom layout to: Make it more spacious and organized. Add smart storage solutions to reduce the clumsy feel caused by the wardrobe. Plan an additional bedroom for two kids in the new extended area. Create a revised 2D floor plan with proposed changes and furniture placement. (Optional) Provide 3D visuals or renders for better understanding of the new design. Suggest lighting, ventilation, and circulation improvements to enhance comfort and usability. Deliverables Updated 2D floor plan (DWG, PDF, or image format). Furniture layout plan showing placement of beds, wardrobes, study tables, etc. (Optional) 3D renders or walkthroughs of key areas (especially bedrooms). Brief design report summarizing key changes and reasoning behind them. Requirements Proven experience in residential design, space planning, or renovation projects. Expertise with design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or Chief Architect. Ability to balance functionality, aesthetics, and cost-effectiveness. Strong understanding of space utilization and storage planning. Open to feedback and design iterations. Additional Details Renovation focus is on maximizing usable space with minimum demolition or restructuring. I will provide: Current floor plan. Photos of key areas (bedroom, shaft area, etc.). Any specific style or storage preferences. Collaboration through iterations and design feedback is expected until final approval. Preferred Freelancer Experience with apartment/home renovations and family-friendly layouts. Creative in using small or irregular spaces efficiently. Good communication and ability to share clear design options.
