Sports Site Experiencing Issues on Both Ends

Our WordPress-based sports site has been running without dedicated development support for a while and it shows. On the visitor-facing side I’m seeing two main pain points: the layout no longer lines up with the latest theme updates and key pages drag before they finish loading. Under the hood, several plugins have started clashing with one another, taking core WordPress functionality down with them. Here’s what I need: • Triage and correct the current design/layout problems so the theme, custom CSS and page builder elements render consistently on desktop and mobile. • Optimise performance to eliminate the slow loading times—leveraging caching, image compression and any other best-practice speed tweaks that suit our stack. • Identify and resolve the plugin conflicts, then restore any features they’ve broken (scoreboards, stats widgets, etc.). Where an outdated plugin is the culprit, advise on a reliable replacement or light custom code. • Audit the rest of the back end to make sure WordPress updates, database calls and server settings are all playing nicely together; document any further risks you spot. I’ll provide full admin and FTP access on a staging clone first so you can work safely, then we’ll push to production once everything passes a quick acceptance check: pages display correctly, average load time under two seconds, and no console errors or PHP warnings after the fixes. If you’re comfortable diving into a live sports site, let’s get this back in peak condition.
