R.A.D.A.R – Rescue Aid, Detection and Response

R.A.D.A.R. (Rescue Aid, Detection and Response) is a mobile-based emergency communication system developed to function during natural disasters and complete network failures. When disasters strike, communication infrastructure like cell towers and internet services often go down, leaving victims unable to call for help. In those critical moments, delays in emergency response can cost lives. Most existing systems rely on stable internet or mobile networks, which are often unavailable in such situations. R.A.D.A.R. solves this by providing an offline-first communication system that allows victims to send distress signals without needing any network connection. Using device-to-device communication technologies such as Bluetooth Mesh or Wi-Fi Direct, victims can broadcast signals that rescuers can detect through a radar-style interface. A working prototype of the system has already been developed and tested with core features in place, and we are now looking to take the next steps, including refining, expanding, or field testing the platform.
