I have several laboratory reports saved as PDFs that need to be brought into our LIMS database. The raw text has already been captured through a PDF-converter, but before it is loaded I need a meticulous pass of data validation and cleaning. In practice this means opening each converted file, comparing it against the original PDF, fixing any OCR slip-ups, standardising units or sample IDs where the converter was inconsistent, and flagging anything that looks anomalous. You’ll work directly with the PDF copies and the converter’s output (CSV format) and deliver a cleaned file that can be imported into the LIMS without further edits. Accuracy is more important than speed, so I’m counting on a strong eye for detail and familiarity with common validation techniques in Excel, Google Sheets or similar tools. Deliverable: • One fully validated, clean CSV (or XLSX) per PDF batch, ready for LIMS upload, plus a brief log of any corrections or uncertainties.
