I’m creating an online directory dedicated to finding Black-owned hair salons and stylists across London and need a developer who can take it from concept to a polished, user-friendly site. A Yelp for Black Hair Salons. Core build • Interactive map of London that plots each listing, supports clustering/zoom and opens profile previews. • Two listing types—salon profiles and individual stylists—each with its own detail page, photo gallery, service list and contact buttons. • Powerful search that lets visitors filter by location (postcode, borough or “near me”) and by service type (braids, colour, relaxer, etc.). Revenue features • Subscription engine with Monthly and Annual plans. Businesses must be able to sign up, pay online (Stripe or similar) and manage their listing from a simple dashboard. • Sponsored posts / featured spots that push selected salons or stylists to the top of results and highlight them on the map. Administration • Clean back-office where I can approve new listings, edit content, flag inactive accounts and view subscription analytics. • Email notifications for new sign-ups, renewals, expiring listings and support messages. Quality expectations • Fully responsive front-end, tested on mobile, tablet and desktop. • SEO-ready URLs and meta setup. • Clear code documentation and a brief hand-over video or call so I can manage the site post-launch. I’m open to WordPress (Elementor + relevant directory plugins and have started the project on there so happy for someone to pick up), but also open to Laravel, or another modern stack if you can deliver comparable speed and flexibility. Please outline your preferred tech, past directory work, and an estimated timeline with key milestones in your proposal.
