Join an R&D team working on cutting-edge optical and laser systems for next-generation factory automated line. We’re looking for a Laser Compliance Systems Engineer with expertise in optical engineering, laser depth sensing, and computer vision. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement effective calibration and test strategies for depth emitters across a variety of products. Your work will directly influence the quality, safety, and reliability of globally distributed products, ensuring cutting-edge technology meets the highest standards. This role also involves supporting compliance as a type of metrology/station DRI (direct responsible individual), collaborating with suppliers (e.g., Instrument Systems) to qualify new measurement devices, and implementing them in factories. Occasional travel to factory sites in Asia may be required. In this position you will · Collaborate to develop test requirements for metrology laser/test stations · Collaborate across functions (mechanical, software, electrical, optics) to define optical safety testing methodologies focused on traceability and process capability · Develop Software overlays using Python alike scripting language or Matlab · Communicate with & partially manage instrumentation vendors in Europe and Asia · Introduce new test coverages & implement calibration and test procedures during new product introductions · Apply analytics to data from test stations to propose optimizations & improvements · Own specific HW/SW accountability over entrusted optical/laser system and advocate for it with cross functional team Key Qualifications ·Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field · +2 years of experience in an international setting with a strong tech background in optical engineering or laser depth sensing, or computer vision, or similar · Familiarity with optical equipment, performance metrics and metrology · Competence in data analysis and algorithm development in Python or other scripting languages · Self-motivated, independent, and dedicated, with excellent English communication skills · Ability to adapt quickly to different technologies within the camera and optics space Nice to have (big plus either of mentioned bellow) · Optical background and/or experience with image processing and computer vision algorithm development · Experience with Matlab and Zemax · Experience performing design of experiments in the Lab · Experience with VCSEL, structured light, or depth sensors · Understanding of laser safety standards What we offer · A collaborative, hands-on and technically focused team within the iconic tech giant. · Exposure to international projects and interaction with global stakeholders · Opportunity to travel to production sites in Europe & Asia and work closely with suppliers to qualify and implement new measurement equipment Job Type: Full-time or B2B Job Types: Full-time, Contract Education: Bachelor's (Preferred) Experience: Python: 2 years (Required) hands-on: 3 years (Preferred) Language: English (Required) Work Location: In person
