Android Social App Prototype

I need a skilled Android developer to build the first-release version of a niche social networking app. In this phase the focus is deliberately narrow: a clean, reliable user-profile system that lets people register, create a profile, view/edit their details, and discover other users through a simple list or search. Key points • Platform: native Android (Java or Kotlin in Android Studio). • Core feature: user profiles with avatar, bio, and basic contact fields. • Authentication: email + password (Firebase Auth or comparable secure solution). • Data: cloud back-end or local server using Firebase Realtime/Firestore or REST API—whichever you work fastest with. • UI/UX: modern Material 3 styling; no elaborate graphics needed, just clean and intuitive flows. • Deliverables: compiled APK, full Android Studio source, and a brief README explaining build steps and dependencies. This is an MVP, so I’m purposely leaving out messaging and media sharing for now, but I’d like the codebase structured so those modules can slot in later without major refactor. If you’ve built similar social apps, please mention them—working demos or GitHub links are a plus. Timeline is flexible within normal project bounds, yet I’d like regular check-ins and a quick clickable prototype in the first week to confirm direction. Let’s get started on this foundation and set the stage for future features.
