Android Inventory Audit App

I need a lightweight Android application that lets my team verify the physical presence of each item in our warehouse by scanning its barcode and instantly comparing that scan to a pre-loaded reference list from our system. Core workflow • I upload a simple CSV or XLSX file that contains item codes and expected quantities. • The app opens the device camera (or paired handheld scanner) to read standard 1D / 2D barcodes. • Each successful scan is checked against the reference list and marked as “found.” • A running counter shows how many items are still missing or duplicated. Essential features • Offline operation while we walk through the aisles, with local storage that syncs to the phone only. • A basic mismatch report (CSV or PDF) that I can export or email at the end of the round, listing items not located, extras, or duplicates. • Simple settings screen to clear data, import next audit file, and toggle sound/vibration feedback on scan. Scope notes • Barcode scanning is the only validation method I need; no RFID or manual entry beyond the fallback keyboard search. • No live integration with our existing inventory platform—just the import/export files described above. • The interface can stay utilitarian: plain list views or Material Design defaults are fine. Tech preferences & deliverables • Android Studio project in Kotlin or Java, targeting Android 8.0 and above. • Source code, one signed debug APK for testing, and brief instructions on how to load the reference file. If you have prior experience building simple inventory or scan-based apps, let me know and share a quick sample. I’m looking for a clean, working prototype I can test on a couple of off-the-shelf Android phones before we consider any future enhancements.
