The core goal is to deliver the same friction-free experience, but fully automated on Android by connecting directly to a user’s Gmail inbox and SMS messages to capture transaction data in real time. Design & UX The interface must feel modern and trendy—smooth animations, bold typography, and material-you styling that adapts to dark/light modes. Core Features (must-haves) • Expense tracking • Budget management • Financial reports Automation Requirements • Secure Gmail API integration to read purchase-related emails, extract merchant, amount, and date, and categorize the spend automatically. • SMS listener (with runtime permission) that parses bank or card alerts and feeds the same categorization engine. • A background service that merges email and SMS data, eliminates duplicates, and updates the dashboard instantly. Authentication Implement Android BiometricPrompt for fingerprint and face unlock so users can open the app without passwords. Data & Cloud All data should live locally first with optional encrypted cloud backup (Firebase or a lightweight custom backend—open to the best approach as long as data privacy is guaranteed). Deliverables 1. Production-ready Android app matching the iOS feature set. 2. Clean, well-commented source code and build instructions. 3. One-tap release build (Play Console–ready). 4. README covering Gmail/SMS setup steps and privacy notes. 5. Short loom/walk-through video demonstrating automated transaction capture and biometric login. Acceptance Criteria • A new email or SMS triggers a visible transaction in under 10 seconds. • Accuracy: ≥95 % correct category assignment on test dataset. • App passes Play Store policy review for SMS/Gmail permissions and biometric use. • No crashes on Android 10–14 (both arm64 & x86 emulators).
