I need a freelancer to design, build, and launch an AI-driven, web-based platform that empowers pro se litigants to draft their own court paperwork—from initial pleadings through motions and full legal briefs—without ever cutting corners on authority or formatting. Core goal The heart of the product is intelligent drafting: the system should ask the user plain-language questions, pull only verifiable, publicly available law, and then assemble a finished document that includes pinpoint citations to real cases, statutes, and court rules. Citations must be traceable to the original source and be formatted in Bluebook style (or the local court’s preferred variant) automatically. Jurisdictional coverage Because users often file in more than one venue, the platform must recognize both federal and state courts. When a user selects a jurisdiction, the workflow, required sections, page limits, and filing instructions need to adjust accordingly. Document types At launch the generator must confidently handle Court Filings, Motions, and Legal Briefs. Future document categories can live behind feature flags, so the architecture should stay modular. User journey 1. Account creation (email, OAuth, or pro bono/NGO invite codes). 2. Interactive questionnaire that adapts to the user’s answers. 3. Real-time preview with highlighting of each inserted authority. 4. One-click export to Word and PDF, plus jurisdiction-specific e-filing guidance. Tech expectations I’m open, but a typical stack might blend a React or Vue front-end with Python (FastAPI or Django) on the back-end, using an LLM (OpenAI, Claude, or an in-house model) wired to a retrieval layer (e.g., Elasticsearch + case-law corpus) via LangChain-style RAG pipelines. Containerised deployment to AWS or GCP, CI/CD on GitHub Actions, and unit/functional test coverage are important. Deliverables • Fully functional web app deployed to a cloud account I control • Source code repository with README and setup scripts • Scraper or API integration that fetches only public-domain legal texts • Template engine for federal and all 50 state courts (sample set acceptable for MVP) • Admin dashboard for user management and prompt/knowledge-base tuning • Documentation and video walkthrough for non-technical stakeholders Acceptance criteria The generated documents must pass a citation check (random 10-sample audit) and load with correct margins, fonts, and caption blocks when filed through CM/ECF and at least one state e-filing portal.
