I’m putting together a five-page static website to showcase my IT consultancy. The site will be primarily text-and-image driven, so clean layout, readable typography, and well-balanced visuals are key. Because I don’t yet have formal brand guidelines, the first step is to craft a simple but distinctive look—logo, colour palette, and font pairings that feel modern and tech-savvy without being flashy. Once the mini-brand is set, the actual build should follow standard HTML5 and CSS3 best practices: fully responsive, fast loading, and easy to maintain. JavaScript can be kept to a minimum or omitted altogether; the goal is lightweight performance rather than interactivity. Each page must validate cleanly, display consistently on current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, and be organised so that I can swap in new text or images later on without breaking the layout. Deliverables • Style guide (logo source files, hex colours, typography choices) • Five static pages (index + four inner pages) with linked CSS and any asset folders • Brief hand-off notes explaining file structure and how to update content A straightforward project, but attention to detail on branding and responsiveness will make all the difference.
