WordPress Expert (Front-End + Back-End) — Long-Term Role We’re looking for a skilled WordPress expert who can handle both front-end and back-end development. This is not an agency job — we want to work with one dedicated individual who can take ownership, solve problems efficiently, and grow with us long-term. If you perform well, this can easily evolve into a full-time position with recurring projects across our portfolio of websites. Current Website Challenges (WPBakery-Based) Our existing website was built using WPBakery, and we’re currently experiencing several technical and SEO issues that need professional attention: Duplicate H1 tags and meta descriptions being generated automatically Empty H2 tags appearing on multiple pages “No-follow” pages still getting indexed by Google CSS layout glitches and inconsistent spacing in various sections Page URLs randomly changing or appending unwanted parameters such as: https://www.website.com/?_gl=1*rk4tr1*_gcl_au*NjA3ODMwODQy... Overall website speed and performance issues, requiring manual optimization (not plugin-based) WPBakery instability and compatibility issues affecting design alignment We need an experienced developer who can audit, troubleshoot, and fix these issues without breaking the current design or structure. What We’re Looking For Strong skills in both front-end and back-end WordPress development Expertise in WPBakery and Elementor, with the ability to migrate layouts from WPBakery to Elementor with full design accuracy Deep understanding of SEO structure, heading hierarchy, canonical tags, and schema Experience with manual speed optimization — handling cache, scripts, database, TTFB, and image compression Ability to develop or customize plugins when needed Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL Skilled in debugging URL, permalink, and meta tag inconsistencies Additional Tasks & Ongoing Goals Transfer the current WPBakery setup to Elementor for better control and stability Enhance website UI/UX for a more modern, clean, and conversion-focused experience Ensure all SEO elements (H1, H2, meta titles, schema) are properly structured and consistent Perform regular website audits to maintain technical and SEO health Work closely with our marketing and SEO team to implement long-term improvements Ideal Candidate Independent developer (not part of an agency) Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying technical gaps Passionate about clean, fast, and stable WordPress builds Communicates clearly and documents every change made Open to long-term collaboration or full-time engagement Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with custom plugin or theme development Familiarity with Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse, and GTMetrix metrics Understanding of server-level optimizations (e.g., VPS, CDN, Cloudflare, caching layers) Comfortable working with Git or version control systems Engagement & Growth Initial project-based scope with performance-based progression to a monthly retainer or full-time role Flexible working hours but responsive communication is expected Long-term opportunities to handle multiple sites and higher-level technical projects
