I am enhancing a WordPress site and need a developer who can turn a static image into an interactive experience. The task is to place clear, clickable hotspots over the image; when a visitor clicks any hotspot, a corresponding block of text that sits in a dedicated sidebar / widget area must become visually highlighted (for example, by background color change or other unmistakable effect). No pop-ups, page reloads, or scrolling—just an immediate, smooth highlight of the targeted sidebar text. Key points • WordPress is already installed and running on a modern theme. • The image and sidebar copy are ready; I simply need the underlying code or lightweight plugin solution to connect the two. • Clean, maintainable HTML / CSS / JavaScript (or a reputable image-map plugin) is preferred so future updates are easy. • The implementation has to be fully responsive and keep Core Web Vitals in mind—no heavy libraries. • I’ll supply admin access and staging credentials the moment we start; please return tested code or plugin settings plus a brief “how-to” so I can replicate the setup on other pages. Deliverable 1. Interactive image placed on an existing page. 2. Hotspots that accurately overlay the intended portions of the image. 3. Highlight effect triggered on the matching sidebar text block, with smooth UX on desktop and mobile. 4. Short hand-off note explaining where code was added or which plugin settings were configured. If you’ve built similar image-based navigation or hotspot features before, I’m eager to see an example. Looking forward to working together on this small but impactful improvement.
