I use a Samsung SmartTag2 tied to SmartThings Find and need a hands-off way to know the moment it pops up in a location that isn’t next to me. The idea is simple: once the tag is picked up by another Android device—meaning it has definitely left my own phone’s Bluetooth bubble—Tasker should fire an unmistakable alarm on my phone (and optionally a push). What I’m looking for • A Tasker profile/scene that listens for the SmartTag2’s “detected at new location” event, whether you tap directly into SmartThings API, intercept its push notifications with AutoNotification, or use another reliable method. • The profile should run in the background, no root required, and wake up the phone with sound, vibration, or any channel you expose in Tasker’s tasks. • A clear importable Tasker project (.xml) plus step-by-step notes so I can tweak sounds, notification style, or add distance logic later if I choose. Acceptance – I import the supplied profile, power off Bluetooth, walk the tag out of range, wait for SmartThings to update, and within seconds Tasker raises the chosen alert. – No false positives while the tag is still within my phone’s Bluetooth range. If you’ve already linked Tasker with SmartThings or similar crowd-sourced location networks, that’s exactly the expertise I’m after.
