Project: Fix Shopify + Gelato “Sold Out” Issue We are running a Shopify store integrated with Gelato for print-on-demand. At the moment, many products show as “Sold Out” on the storefront, even though they should always be available because they are POD items. What we’ve tried Enabled “Continue selling when out of stock” on all variants. Switched inventory tracking on and off (both track inventory + inventory_management = null) and tested. Patched product variants in bulk via API to set inventory_policy = CONTINUE and inventory_management = NOT_MANAGED. Updated our theme (Dawn) snippets to bypass some stock checks. Despite this, Shopify’s product JSON still returns available: false for variants, so the site continues to display products as sold out and rejects add-to-cart requests. What we need Diagnose why Shopify/Gelato is overriding availability (possibly a Gelato stock sync). Implement a global fix so POD products always remain purchasable. Ensure this works across both product pages and collection/product card views. Verify that add-to-cart and checkout work smoothly without needing manual stock resets. Bonus/Future Work If you also have experience with Shopify promotion and marketing (e.g., theme optimization, SEO, campaign setup, influencer/POD brand growth), there may be additional work available after this fix.
