I’m building a fully offline education app for 8- to 12-year-olds that will run on classroom tablets with no internet access. The app must cover multiple subjects—think math, science, language arts, and social studies—with a balanced mix of interactive quizzes and educational games to keep learners engaged. Here’s the scope I envision: • Curriculum & content framework – Map core concepts for each subject and break them into bite-sized lessons that fit a single-class period. – Write or source age-appropriate questions, mini-games, and visual assets (we will supply any licensed material you can’t create in-house). • Experience design – Child-friendly UI/UX that works smoothly on 7- to 10-inch Android tablets. – Clear navigation so teachers can jump to any lesson without internet connectivity. – Local progress tracking so each student’s results remain on the device until manually exported. • Development & optimization – Build the app natively (Kotlin/Java) or with a cross-platform framework that compiles to an offline-ready APK. – Bundle all media assets locally; no external calls, no hidden trackers. – Lightweight installation (<400 MB preferred) and fast load times on 2 GB RAM devices. • Teacher tools – Simple admin section to reset progress, export CSV reports, and update content via sideloaded patch files. – Password-protected access to prevent students from altering settings. • Delivery package – Source code in a Git repo with clear build instructions. – Signed release APK ready to install. – Installation and user guides in PDF. – Two rounds of post-delivery refinements based on real classroom feedback. If you’ve developed kid-centric apps, serious games, or offline-first solutions before, I’d love to see examples. Let me know your proposed tech stack, timeline for an MVP, and any questions that will help you scope the content workload accurately.
