I have a homemade aluminum casting of a specialty tool that secures an air gauge while I test pressures below 100 psi. The metal version works, but it’s heavier than I’d like. I want to migrate the design to a high-strength polymer so the tool is lighter yet still tough enough to handle repeated contact with metal fittings. Scope • Create or refine a CAD model from my existing cast (photos and rough dimensions supplied). • Recommend a polymer or composite filament that balances weight reduction with wear resistance—something that won’t deform or crack against metal surfaces. • Produce a functional prototype via 3D printing, test-fit it with a standard air gauge, and adjust the model if needed. Deliverables 1. Editable CAD files (STEP and STL). 2. One printed prototype shipped to me for fitment tests. 3. Brief material report explaining why the chosen polymer meets durability goals. 4. Final print-ready files after any tweaks from prototype feedback. I’m comfortable iterating once or twice to reach a robust, production-ready design. If you have experience with durable polymers such as nylon, polycarbonate, or carbon-fiber blends—and can guide material selection as well as printing parameters—let’s collaborate.
