Project Overview We’re looking for a talented 3D artist or texture designer to help shape the visual soul of OrbWorld, our interactive AI universe. You’ll design 5 Orb skins and 8 accessories that bring life, style, and personality to users’ Orbs in a real-time 3D environment. You’ll need both technical precision and artistic spark—every design should feel alive, immersive, and ready to delight. ✅ Deliverables 1. Orb Skins (5 total) Create five unique spherical textures. Each should express a distinct mood or theme—cosmic, organic, tech, nature, abstract, or something entirely your own. 2. Accessories (8 total) Design one unique 3D model for each attachment point around the Orb. Think creatively—crowns, wings, masks, halos, propellers, stands, or other imaginative touches. Attachment Points: Top, Bottom, Front, Back, Left, Right, Top-Right, Top-Left ✅ Technical Guidelines A. Orb Skin Textures Resolution: 2048×1024 (min) / 4096×2048 (preferred) Ratio: 2:1 (equirectangular UV) Format: PNG with transparency | Color space: sRGB | Max size: 5 MB Detail zone: Keep logos and focus art in the middle (40–60% height). Avoid fine detail near poles or edges—distortion occurs there. Texture must wrap seamlessly (left ↔ right). Checklist before submission: - Seamless wrap - Correct aspect ratio - No distortion at poles - Under 5 MB B. 3D Accessory Models Format: GLB (single file) or GLTF with textures Max 10 k triangles | 15 k vertices | 5 MB total Materials: PBR (Metallic/Roughness workflow) Optional maps: Normal | Metallic/Roughness | Emissive Scale reference: Orb radius 16 cm (1 unit = 1 cm) Attachment rules: Pivot = point of contact (0, 0, 0) Forward = +Z Up = +Y Example: Top accessory extends up (+Y) Front faces +Z Back extends −Z File Naming Skins – skin_[theme]_[resolution].png Example: skin_cosmic_2048x1024.png Accessories – accessory_[position]_[name]_[size].glb Example: accessory_top_crown_large.glb If textures separate: [name]_basecolor.png, [name]_normal.png, [name]_metallic-roughness.png, [name]_emissive.png ✅ Quality Standards Visual Professional finish—no pixelation or artifacts Cohesive art style and believable materials Balanced lighting and clean gradients Technical No flipped normals or open meshes Optimized polygons and properly unwrapped UVs sRGB color textures and validated GLB output Recommended Tools 2D Texturing: Photoshop | GIMP | Affinity Photo | Procreate 3D Modeling: Blender (recommended) | Maya | 3ds Max | Cinema 4D Material Painting: Substance Painter | Quixel Mixer | Blender Validation: gltf-viewer.donmccurdy.com | glTF Validator ✅ Resources You’ll Receive UV grid template + safe zone map Example design with distortion guides 3D reference orb (16 cm radius) Full technical spec files and submission checklist Preview tool: orbworld.app/designer/preview ✅ Submission Process Phase 1 – Concept (Optional) Submit 2–3 skin and 4–6 accessory sketches for early feedback. Phase 2 – Final Delivery Zip all assets in this structure: orbworld-assets/ ├─ skins/ ├─ accessories/ └─ previews/ ✅ Include 4 preview angles per asset. Phase 3 – Validation We’ll test every file for technical compliance, visual polish, and in-engine integration. Revision Policy: Minor fixes: included - Major rework: up to 2 rounds Invalid files must be corrected before approval ✅ Timeline Week 1: Concepts (optional) Weeks 2–3: Production Week 4: Revisions + delivery Final deadline: [insert date] ✅ Submission Checklist 5 textures (2048×1024 or 4096×2048 PNG) 8 unique accessories (GLB, ≤10 k tris) All naming and size rules followed Previews and README included No errors in glTF Validator ✅ Payment & Rights Terms: Payment released on completion Rights: If you take this job, full commercial ownership of all designs will be granted to OrbWorld. Portfolio: You may display final assets after release ✅ As a new function, moving from designed object to installation may take some time and sustaining a working relationship and adaptability may be required and appreciated. ✅ Pro Tips for Success For Skins Design around the equator first—it’s what users see most. Use gradients at poles and avoid hard seams. Test textures on a sphere before final export. For Accessories Set the pivot first. Model to real-world scale (1 unit = 1 cm). Start low poly, then add detail. Re-import after export to check materials. Avoid: misplaced pivots, JPEG skins, distorted poles, exceeding triangle limits. Inspiration - but let your imagination go wild. Skin themes: Celestial | Organic | Tech | Nature | Abstract Accessory ideas: Crowns, Halos, Masks, Wings, Flags, Props, Bases We can’t wait to see your imagination come alive inside OrbWorld. Let your designs orbit with style
