The dashboards must translate this flow of data into quick-read visuals: colour-coded real-time stock levels, alerts as soon as an item dips below threshold, and clear countdowns to each individual expiry date (even when the same SKU has multiple lots with different dates). From there, I also want forward-looking projections that combine usage history with upcoming expirations to predict shortages before they happen and highlight how many patients we can still treat with what remains. Because our operation spans multiple sites, the tool has to let us drill down to one facility or roll everything up to an organisation-wide view, showing cost value on hand, incoming orders (requested, en route, partially filled, received), and equipment that is due for servicing. Percentage-of-stock metrics and patient-impact estimates should sit front and centre so decision-makers can act fast.
