I’m looking for a junior-level developer who can focus on two things for my in-house desktop application that runs exclusively on Linux: 1. Functional testing 2. Clear, developer-friendly documentation The codebase is already stable, but before we push to production I need fresh eyes to walk through every feature, validate expected behaviour, and record anything that looks off. You’ll write reproducible test cases, execute them, and log results (pass/fail, steps, screenshots, stack traces). I work with Git for version control and track issues in Jira, so you’ll commit tests to the repo and open concise tickets whenever you spot defects. Once functionality is verified, I want straightforward documentation aimed at both new developers and end users. Think install instructions, usage examples, configuration notes, and a brief architecture overview—kept in Markdown so it stays close to the code. Deliverables • Functional test plan with individual test cases • Completed test execution report and Jira tickets for any bugs found • Markdown documentation checked into the repo (readme, user guide, developer notes) Acceptance criteria • All core features covered by at least one test case • Zero blocking defects open after re-test • Documentation builds cleanly from the repo and someone new can install and run the app unaided If you’re comfortable in a Linux terminal, can script quick test helpers in Bash or Python when needed, and enjoy writing clear English, I’d love to get you on board this week.
