Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer (Shift-Based) Location: SugaRich Brackley Reports to: Engineering Manager / Site Manager Role Purpose To provide engineering support across the processing plant, ensuring that production equipment and site utilities are maintained, reliable, and compliant. The role supports continuous operation on a shift basis and contributes to site safety, quality, and efficiency targets. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities • Carry out planned, preventive, and reactive maintenance on a range of process and packaging equipment. • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and control system faults. • Support production teams to minimise downtime and optimise plant performance. • Maintain accurate maintenance records and update the site CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System). • Ensure all engineering activities comply with LOLER, PUWER, DSEAR, FEMAS, and ISO standards. • Participate in engineering projects, plant upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment by following all site safety procedures and risk assessments. • Support audits and inspections, ensuring engineering documentation and procedures are up to date. • Liaise with external contractors and suppliers as required. ________________________________________ Qualifications and Experience • Minimum HNC qualification (or equivalent in Engineering or Maintenance discipline). • Proven experience in a processing or manufacturing environment, ideally within the food or feed sector. • Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems (motors, conveyors, pneumatics, pumps, sensors, etc.). • Familiarity with control systems, PLC fault finding, and automation is advantageous. • Working knowledge of LOLER, DSEAR, PUWER, and quality management systems such as FEMAS and ISO. • Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and communication skills. ________________________________________ Working Pattern • Shift-based working pattern to support 24/5 (and occasional weekend) operations. • Flexibility for call-outs and overtime as required. ________________________________________ Behaviours and Attributes • Safety-first mindset. • Team-oriented with a proactive and adaptable approach. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. • Self-motivated and capable of working independently when required.
