I’m looking for a well-thought-out design for a wooden, modern-style TV stand that can live at the foot of my bed. It must safely support and motor-mount (or otherwise securely mount) a 65-inch TV of any weight while keeping every console and accessory tucked neatly out of sight. Core requirements • Material: Wood with a clean, modern aesthetic—flush panels, minimal hardware, smooth edges, and a finish I can stain or paint. • Consoles: Dedicated, ventilated bays for a PS5, an Xbox Series console, a Nintendo Switch, and allowance for the rumored Switch 2—each on slide-out or drop-down shelves that disappear behind a front panel when not in use. • Controllers: Built-in mounting rack/organizer that lets me dock multiple controllers so they charge yet stay hidden. • Cable management: Internal channels that route power and HDMI leads so nothing dangles; only one mains lead exits the unit. • Bed-end footprint: Height low enough not to block the view of the rest of the room when the TV is retracted, with rounded back corners so sheets don’t snag. • Stability & ventilation: Stand must remain solid when the TV is extended and keep all consoles within safe operating temps. • Finish panel or sliding door system to “hide everything in plain sight” when powered down.
