I want to build an online tool that provides instant estimates for building costs across Australia, tailored to regional pricing and project types like new builds, extensions, or second-story additions. The website will be called 'Building Cost’ and will cover all of Australia. I will need to request an overall specification, for the projects, that include floor types, roof types, external finishes, sub-floor areas, etc. Allow for multiple types to be selected per project. Then I intend to use a modular costing system, to cost each room type (bathrooms, kitchens, lounge rooms, bedrooms), position (ground floor, lower ground floor, upper floor) and size. The client will be asked to nominate the rooms in their project. I will calculate the combined costs for rooms, and add them into the app, rather than have the app calculate them. I want to keep the app simple for now. I will be charging my clients to use the app before they start putting the data in. The input data, from my clients, will be mostly check-boxes, and some measurements. I will use Stripe for payment. Use a simple email/password for registration. I will supply pricing as a spreadsheet import The design style should be a clean, professional interface. I can send a sample landing page image. The cost calculation output will be onscreen as a 'room by room’ breakdown, for review, and then a final 'room by room' and a AIQS output (an 11 line summary), in downloadable pdf format.
