I have an early-stage startup concept that needs to come to life as a native Android e-commerce app. The goal is to release a clean, stable MVP on Google Play that lets users log in securely, browse a product catalog, and complete purchases through a fully functional shopping cart. Core scope • Build the entire Android application from scratch, targeting the latest API level and following Material Design guidelines. • Implement User Authentication (email/password with room to expand to social logins). • Create a scalable Product Catalog with category browsing and search. • Integrate a Shopping Cart flow that persists across sessions and culminates in a checkout placeholder screen (payment gateway wiring will be a later milestone). • Structure the project for future cross-platform growth—while this release is Android only, I plan to add iOS once traction is proven. Tech preferences Kotlin, Jetpack Compose or XML layouts, Firebase/Auth + Firestore for the back-end are all welcome choices, but I’m open to alternatives if you can justify improved speed, security, or maintainability. Deliverables 1. Android Studio project with clean, documented code. 2. APK / AAB ready for internal testing on real devices and the Play Console. 3. Brief setup notes: environment, dependencies, build steps. 4. One hand-off call or screen share to run through the codebase. Acceptance criteria • Smooth sign-up / sign-in flow that rejects invalid data. • Catalog and cart actions reflected instantly and surviving app restarts. • No crashes or major UI glitches on Android 10-14. • Performance: first screen paint under 2 seconds on a mid-range phone.
